A Marker event specifies that the Microsoft Cross-Platform Audio Creation Tool (XACT) engine must generate a marker notification to the title program when the track has progressed to the designated point. The programmer can use this notification to know when to perform some required action. It should be noted that markers play a significant role in deciding how interactive cues transition from variation to variation.
A Marker event can be set up to provide a single notification, or to recur on a timed interval.
