UnsafeNativeMethods.Matrix.Multiply Method

Language:

Determines the product of two matrices.

Note: For programming in Microsoft Visual Basic .NET or Microsoft JScript .NET, use the equivalent method in the Microsoft.DirectX structures.

Definition

Visual Basic Public Shared Function Multiply( _
    ByVal pOut As Matrix, _
    ByVal left As Matrix, _
    ByVal right As Matrix _
) As Matrix
C# public static Matrix Multiply(
    Matrix pOut,
    Matrix left,
    Matrix right
);
C++ public:
static Matrix Multiply(
    Matrix pOut,
    Matrix left,
    Matrix right
);
JScript public static function Multiply(
    pOut : Matrix,
    left : Matrix,
    right : Matrix
) : Matrix;

Parameters

pOut Microsoft.DirectX.Matrix
A Matrix structure that is the product of two matrices.
left Microsoft.DirectX.Matrix
Source Matrix structure.
right Microsoft.DirectX.Matrix
Source Matrix structure.

Return Value

Microsoft.DirectX.Matrix
A Matrix structure that is the product of two matrices.

Remarks

This method's result represents the transformation of left (or the current instance) followed by the transformation of right (or source).

The following equations demonstrate how the multiplication takes place.

Out = left * right

Out = this instance * source

The return value for this method is the same value returned in the pOut parameter. This allows you to use the Multiply method as a parameter for another method.
