Serial Link

A serial link is used to communicate with another computer through the serial ports. The service provider supports only nonguaranteed messaging. You can use the DirectPlay protocol for guaranteed messaging on serial links.

Creating a session or enumerating sessions causes the provider to display a dialog box asking the user to configure the serial port. The port must be configured the same way on both computers.

The serial link service provider can be specified as DPSPGUID_SERIAL.
