DirectPlayMessage.GetMessageData

The DirectPlayMessage.GetMessageData method gets raw data from a message.

object.GetMessageData(userDefinedType As Any)

Parameters

object
Object expression that resolves to a DirectPlayMessage object.
userDefinedType
User-defined type to receive the message data.

Error Codes

If the method fails, an error is raised and Err.Number will be set.

Remarks

This method should be used only for retrieving data from a message whose data has been written by using DirectPlayMessage.SetMessageData. The method retrieves the entire message, regardless of whether any part of it has already been retrieved by using one or more of the DirectPlayMessage.ReadX methods.
