ID3DXSprite::GetDevice

Retrieves the Microsoft® Direct3D® device associated with the sprite object.

);

Parameters

ppDevice
[out, retval] Address of a pointer to an IDirect3DDevice8 interface, representing the Direct3D device object associated with the sprite object.

Return Values

If the method succeeds, the return value is D3D_OK.

If the method fails, the return value can be D3DERR_INVALIDCALL.

Note  Calling this method will increase the internal reference count on the IDirect3DDevice8 interface. Be sure to call IUnknown::Release when you are done using this IDirect3DDevice8 interface or you will have a memory leak.
