Transmit
Use the device control interfaces to transmit video from the DV tape to a computer file, or from a file to the tape:
- Tape to file: To transmit from tape to file, create a capture graph exactly as you would for capturing live video. For information on how to build a capture graph, see How to Write a Capture Application. The camcorder must be in VTR mode. Run the filter graph, and then switch the transport to play. To stop transmitting, stop the transport and then stop filter graph.
- File to tape: To transmit from file to tape, connect the Async File Source filter to the device filter. Put the device into record-pause mode and then pause the filter graph. While the filter graph is paused, it sends a continuous stream that repeats the first frame of video. To start transmitting, put the device into record mode and then run the filter graph. It takes the device a certain amount of time until the recording head is able to record, so wait for about two seconds before running the graph. This might result in a few duplicated frames at the beginning of the tape, but it ensures that no data is lost.
