Microsoft DirectX 8.1 (C++)

Writing Digital TV Applications with DirectX 8.1

With the Microsoft® DirectX® 8.1 SDK you can create digital TV applications that will run on Microsoft Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, and Windows Me. To write applications for Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional, use the Microsoft Platform SDK, which will enable you to take advantage of features such as the new Video Mixing Renderer filter, the Video Control, Conditional Access and the Guide Store. These "downlevel" applications must be written in C++. Because the Video Mixing Renderer filter, the Video Control, and the Guide Store are not available on earlier versions of Windows, the application development process for downlevel applications is quite different than it is for applications designed to run on Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional.
