The verify command is similar to a read command except that no data is transferred. The caller must fill in the command, flags, starting sector, and sector count fields. There is no need to fill in the buffer pointer field since no data will be transferred. Obviously, scatter/gather is not supported for the verify command. Some fast disk devices may not support this command and will complete the command with a status of BDS_Invalid_Command.
