SYMPTOMS
Help for preprocessor directives will not be found when searching
from a source or error window in Microsoft QuickC for Windows
(QC/Win) version 1.0. Pressing the F1 (help) key will result in
help for a topic without the pound sign (#).
CAUSE
Because the pound sign can be separated from a directive by
multiple spaces, QC/Win ignores the pound sign when searching for
help topics. Since, without the pound sign, most of the
preprocessor directives have other meanings, they are listed in the
help with pound signs. This disparity keeps QC/Win from finding
help on preprocessor directives from the source and error windows.
RESOLUTION/STATUS
The easiest way to find help on preprocessor directives is to go to
the help menu and search on the topic with the "#" included.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in QC/Win version 1.0.
