Summary:
SYMPTOMS
When installing Microsoft C version 6.0, 6.0a, or 6.0ax, the Setup
program (SETUP.EXE) will generate the following error if the same
drive is specified for both the installation disks and the
destination directories:
ERROR: Cannot load file onto distribution disks
CAUSE
During the setup procedure, you will be asked to specify which
drive will be the source of the installation disks; Setup will
indicate that this may be any valid disk drive on your computer.
However, it cannot be the same drive on which you will be setting
up the compiler. For example, if you specify drive C for the
installation disks, you cannot choose to place any files in
C:\C600\BIN.
RESOLUTION
Another drive, such as D:\C600\BIN, must be chosen.
