SYMPTOMS
When upgrading to SQL Server version 1.1 on a Headless server, the
system appears to hang.
CAUSE
The installation process attempts to display a screen that asks if
it should upgrade from version 1.0, or if it should upgrade from
the NDK (Network Development Kit). Because the server has no
monitor attached to it, the user is unaware that a response is
being requested; therefore, the system waits indefinitely for a
response.
RESOLUTION
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version
1.1. This problem was corrected in the SQL Server version 1.1
Update, which is available from your support provider (Microsoft or
your network specialist).
