Summary:
SYMPTOMS
The SAF "Admin Manage Login IDs" menu option does not allow the
user to enter a numeric login ID or password.
CAUSE
The Add Login ID dialog box was designed to accept only valid SQL
Server identifiers. However, the sp_addlogin stored procedure
incorrectly accepts both numeric login IDs and passwords.
RESOLUTION
Entering numeric login IDs and passwords with sp_addlogin on SQL
Server versions 1.1 and 1.11 is not recommended because it is
neither an expected nor desired behavior. Furthermore, SQL Server
version 4.2 does not sp_addlogin to add numeric identifiers.
