PRSQL9107014: Dbclropt() Does Not Deallocate Buffer Space

ID Number: Q75150

1.10

OS/2

buglist1.10 fixlist1.12

Summary:

Problem ID: PRSQL9107014

SYMPTOMS

Using dbclropt to re-allocate buffer space set by dbsetopt(DBBUFFER)

calls does not work as expected.

CAUSE

Since windows runtime heap functions actually do not deallocate

freed memory (the memory is marked as available for future use),

dbclropt() appears not to deallocate its memory.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in DB-LIBRARY (dblib)

version 1.1. This problem has been corrected in DB-LIBRARY version

1.12, which is available from Microsoft Product Support Services.
