Summary:
SYMPTOMS
The LINK utility generates the following error message:
L1087: "unexpected end-of-file on scratch file"
CAUSE
A disk with the temporary linker output file has been removed.
This information is documented in the Microsoft Macro Assembler
"Microsoft CodeView and Utilities: Software Development Tools for
the MS-DOS Operating System" manual and in the online help.
The error message L1087 can also be caused by insufficient memory
available on the disk that contains the temporary linker output file.
The disk can be a hard disk, floppy disk, or RAM disk.
RESOLUTION
Verify that the disk is available and that there is sufficient
space on the disk that contains the linker output file.
