Summary:

SYMPTOMS

A user reported that running LINK.EXE on Novell Netware Versions

2.12 and 2.15 would replace an unrelated executable file of the same

name which was located on his system path. The file of the same name

with the .EXE extension did not exist in his current working directory.

CAUSE

His system path was being searched and the first occurrence of a file

of the same name was replaced.

RESOLUTION

There is a utility with Novell Netware versions 2.12 and 2.15, called

SMODE, that will determine how the path is searched. When the user

executed this, with "appropriate values", LINK.EXE worked as intended.
