SYMPTOMS

When using the Microsoft QuickC for Windows Development Environment

(QC/Win) version 1.0, an unrecoverable application error (UAE) will

occur if the following sequence is followed:

1. Choose Print from the File menu.

2. Select an Epson printer (using the EPSON9.DRV or EPSON24.DRV

driver).

3. Choose the Setup button.

RESOLUTION

The only work around is to use the Control Panel to change the

printer setup. After selecting the Printers icon, choose Configure,

and then choose Setup; make the desired changes there.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in QC/Win version 1.0.

We are researching this problem and will post new information here

as it becomes available.

More Information:

QC/Win terminates when the UAE occurs. Entering QC/Win again, however,

and following the same process as above, will not cause a UAE (but

will not display the Setup dialog box as expected). The Setup button

can be chosen but nothing will happen.

This problem does not disable printing. It only prevents configuring

the printer setup through QC/Win.

Note that it is recommended to exit and re-enter Windows when an

unrecoverable application error occurs.
