Summary:
The following information is a supplement to the description of the
UPS RECHARGE entry on page 232 of the "Microsoft LAN Manager
Administrator's Reference."
The RECHARGE entry sets the number of minutes of recharge time
required for each minute of battery run time (the time when the
uninterruptible power supply [UPS] is on battery power). This entry is
optional, depending on the SIGNALS that are available from the
battery. This entry should be configured based on the power supply
specifications.
If the UPS service cannot detect a low battery signal from the UPS,
the UPS service will compute a power-up time.
More Information:
To cause the UPS service to perform a shutdown (when a power failure
occurs), do either of the following:
1. Configure the UPS service to perform a shutdown after the time
specified by BATTERYTIME by setting the second digit of the SIGNALS
entry to 0 (zero).
-or-
2. Have the UPS service perform a shutdown when it receives a low
battery signal from the UPS (see the UPS specifications for how
much battery time is available when this signal is generated). To
do this, set the second digit of the SIGNALS entry to 1.
