Summary:
It is possible to write a stored procedure that alters system tables.
The "allow updates" flag must be set on with sp_configure (or with
SAF) when the stored procedure is created; otherwise, it won't
compile. Once the procedure is compiled, turn the "allow updates" flag
back off.
Such procedures should be fully tested because an error could easily
result in data loss or corruption.
