VB.EXE Can Hang with BreakPoint in GotFocus for Text Box

Summary:

In the VB.EXE environment, if a text box MultiLine property is set to

True (-1 or nonzero), setting a breakpoint in the Sub Text1_GotFocus()

will hang the machine, forcing you to reboot the computer.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the VB.EXE environment

provided with Microsoft Visual Basic programming system version 1.0

for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new

information here as it becomes available.

Note that you can set a breakpoint in a selected line of code in the

VB.EXE Code window by pressing F9 or by choosing the Toggle Breakpoint

command from the Run menu.
