SYMPTOMS
Attempting to run Microsoft Multimedia Windows in standard mode
(using the /S parameter) results in the following error message:
Cannot run Windows in standard mode
RESOLUTION
This message is displayed when EMM386.EXE is loaded. Multimedia
Windows can run with other protected-mode software in enhanced
mode. Otherwise, modify the CONFIG.SYS file to comment out or
remove the following line:
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.exe
After rebooting the computer, it will be possible to run Multimedia
Windows in standard mode.
