This chapter shows how to create the different title topics. The topic is the basic building block of a Viewer title. A topic can include text, graphics, audio, and animation. A topic from the sample USA Tour application appears in the following illustration:
Users can “page” through the different topics in a title just as they would in a printed book, or they can jump to other topics, pictures, sound segments, or animation sequences cross-referenced from a particular topic.
Topics are contained in topic files, with each topic file containing one or several topics. This chapter explains how to create the text for Viewer topic files. It also describes the various codes used to identify topics, explains how to create cross-topic jumps, and introduces the project file that controls how the title eventually gets built.
