Cross-Topic Jumps

Cross-references to related topics are called jumps. When you click text or a picture that activates a jump, called a hot spot, Viewer stops displaying the current topic and displays the topic indicated by the jump. Jumps are indicated in a title as follows:

In text, jumps usually appear as underlined, bright green characters.

The mouse pointer changes from an arrow to a finger pointer.

The following illustration contains a jump at the underlined text “Phoenix” (this text appears as bright green on screen).

·To make the jump:

Place the mouse pointer on the jump spot and click the left mouse button.

Viewer finds and displays the topic referenced by the jump, as shown in the following illustration:

You can return to the previous topic by choosing the Back button at the top of the screen.

Pictures can also be hot spots for jumps. In the previous illustration, the AZ button in the heading is a hot spot that returns to the main screen for Arizona.
