Terms

This guide uses these basic Microsoft Windows terms:

Active

Describes the window that is selected and to which the next keystroke or command will apply.

Choose

Perform an action on an object. For example, to choose a menu command means to click the command you want.

Run

Start an application.

Save

Store a file or changes to a file.

Select

Indicate the item that the next command you use will affect. This typically causes an item to become highlighted on a menu.
