12.3.3 Editing and Canceling Embedded Objects

One of the main benefits of OLE is the ability to edit an object in a container document by simply double-clicking on the object. An appropriate procedure should be provided for this function.

If your application allows the user to cancel the embedded state of an object by making it a permanent part of the container document, a procedure and explanation should be provided. The introduction for this procedure could read.

"Because the objects you embed include the information necessary to create them, embedding can increase the size of your files. You can reduce your file size by changing the object to a picture. The object remains in your document, but you can no longer change it by double-clicking it."
