An icon control displays an icon. You can use an existing icon, or design one in the Icon Editor and save it in an .ICO file.
When you select an icon control, a Symbol edit field appears in the Properties Bar with an associated ID edit field to the right. These two fields are identical to the Symbol and ID edit fields that appear for all other controls, described in the next section. (See Figure 2.2.)
·To select an icon control:
Click the icon control symbol in the Toolbox, move the mouse into the dialog, and click again.
Or click an existing icon control in the current dialog.
Below the Symbol field on the Properties Bar is an Icon Sym. edit field and associated field to the right.
Use the Icon Sym. edit field to make the link to the proper icon resource. An icon resource is identified by either an integer ID with corresponding optional symbolic name, or a zero-terminated string.
·To identify a symbolic name and ID associated with an icon:
Enter the symbol in the Icon Sym. edit field.
Or enter the ID in the edit field to the right.
·To identify a zero-terminated string associated with an icon:
1.Enter the string name in the Icon ID field.
2.Immediately tab to the edit field on the right.
3.Erase the Default integer ID.
4.Press ENTER.
The Dialog Editor will accept the value as a zero-terminated string.
