Setting the Window Size and Location

Some applications let Windows decide their initial window position, while others always start in the same location and with the same size. QuickCase:W lets you choose from several starting locations and sizes.

·To set an application's initial size and location:

1.From the Design menu, choose Size and Location.

Or click the prototyped application's Minimize or Maximize button.

2.Choose one of the placements in the Size and Location dialog box (Figure 5.6), then choose OK.

3.If you chose User Defined, a dialog box appears with brief instructions.

A.Place the window in the location and give it the size you want.

B.Choose the Close command from the window's System menu.

The placement options are described below.

Default

Windows decides the application's initial size and position. If other Windows applications are running, their windows may be overlapped.

Minimized

The application initially appears as an icon at the bottom of the screen. Users must double-click the icon to open the application into a window.

Maximized

The application's window initially fills the entire screen. Any other running applications are covered.

User Defined

You set the application's initial size and position.
