Editing a Command on a Menu

After adding a command, you can move it or change its properties with the commands on the Edit menu.

NOTE::

You must use the keyboard to edit commands and menus; clicking on a command with the mouse invokes the Insert Menu Item dialog box.

·To edit an existing command:

1.Make the prototyped window active by pressing ALT+F6. Press ALT again to activate the menu bar, highlighting the first menu.

2.Use the ARROW keys to highlight the command you want to edit.

3.Choose one of the commands from the Edit menu. When you choose a command, the dropdown menu in your interface disappears. This does not affect the action of the command from the Edit menu.

The Edit commands have the following effects on commands:

Cut

Removes the command from the menu and copies it to the Clipboard. If the command links to a cascaded menu, the cascaded menu is also copied to the Clipboard.

Paste

Adds a previously cut command to the menu, inserting it above the command you selected.

Delete

Removes the command from the menu without copying it to the Clipboard.

Insert

Adds a new command to the menu, inserting it above the command you selected.

Update

Invokes the Update Menu Item dialog box for the command you selected, allowing you to alter the command's properties.
