So far, this chapter has discussed “standard” menus, which drop down from a menu bar that contains items the user selects by using the mouse, the arrow keys, or mnemonics. In addition to these menu features, Windows provides the following special features:
Accelerator keys, which provide a keyboard shortcut for selecting menu items
Cascading menus, which you can use to create several levels of pop-up menus
Floating pop-up menus, which are normal pop-up menus except that they can appear anywhere on the screen (usually at the current mouse position)
Customized check marks, for which you use your own bitmaps instead of using the standard Windows check mark.
