Chapter 47 Menus

47.1 About Menus

A menu is one or more lists of application commands. Each command, which may be represented by a string or bitmap, is called a menu item. By using the mouse or the keyboard to choose a menu item, the user directs the application to perform a command. When the user chooses a menu item, Windows sends the application a command message that indicates which item the user selected.

This chapter describes menus and explains how to use them in an application.
