In addition to the development requirements for your application, you should anticipate the run-time system requirements for Microsoft® Exchange Server version 4.0 or later. These requirements are shown in the following table.
Users | Processor | Disk space | RAM |
---|---|---|---|
Minimum | Intel 486 or faster; or supported RISC-based microprocessor such as the MIPS R4000 and Digital Alpha AXP; or PowerPC | At least 250 MB of available hard disk space for Microsoft Exchange Server after Windows NT Server has been installed Adequate available disk space for the Windows NT Server pagefile (50 MB plus the amount of physical RAM)
|
At least 32 MB (48 MB for RISC-based systems) |
Recommended | Intel Pentium 90 MHz or faster | Sufficient disk space for your users' e-mail and public folder information Multiple physical drives At least one striped drive set Adequate available hard disk space for the Windows NT Server pagefile (100 MB plus the amount of RAM) |
At least 32 MB (48 MB for RISC-based systems) |
Note The preceding system requirements are based on the assumption that Microsoft Exchange Server is installed and running on top of Windows NT Server. These requirements incorporate general Windows NT Server requirements but may vary depending on your specific system environment.
