The subtopics in this section discuss the details of reading the various components of a view descriptor. Saving a view descriptor is not covered in this document as it is simply the reverse of reading.
Before reading the view descriptor, you will need to open two properties to read as a stream. These properties are PR_VD_STRINGS and PR_VD_BINARY. These are referred to as the string and binary stream, respectively.
