Running the Sample Gateway

    To prepare for running the sample gateway
  1. Install instances of the gateway on two servers.
  2. Create the required gateway directories on each server.
  3. Share the gateway directories between the servers.
  4. Create a mailbox for each gateway.
  5. For each gateway, create a custom recipient entry for the other gateway.

After the sample gateway is installed, you can run it from the command prompt or as a service running on Windows NT Server.

    To run the sample gateway as a service of Windows NT Server
  1. Double-click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Services.
  3. Select the sample gateway.
  4. Click Start.

    To run the sample gateway from the command prompt
  1. Change to the directory in which you installed the gateway. (C:\GW is the default directory.)
  2. At the command prompt, type:

    START GWSAMPLE NOTSERV gwguid

    where gwguid is the identifier that was automatically created by the Win32 function CoCreateGUID when you installed the gateway. You can find the value for gwguid in the Windows NT Registry.
