Host Names and IP Addresses

If the Windows NT computer does not have access to a WINS server, the SNMP service uses the HOSTS file to resolve host names to IP addresses. The HOST file is merely a text file listing explicit host names and IP addresses. If you use host names, be sure to add all host name and IP address mappings of the participating systems.
