The SMS API accesses objects in the SMS site database as folders. The folder functions enable applications to create, open, modify, delete, and close folders. (Note that only some types of folders—such as package folders, job folders, and so on—support creation and deletion.) They also enable applications to obtain the information contained within the folders. Scalars and subfolders can be retrieved sequentially or by identifier. In addition, these functions allow retrieval of information about a folder, such as its identifier, name, type, number of subfolders, and the number of scalars.
