Client Access Licenses may be added at any time.
If a SQL Server is licensed using the Per Server mode, after you purchase the additional licenses they must be applied to that server. Use the Licensing application in the Control Panel of the server to increase the number of users to equal the total number of Client Access Licenses purchased for that server.
