Installing Client Software
You can install the SQL Server client software directly from the Microsoft SQL Server 6.0 CD, or you can copy the software onto a network drive and install from there. If you plan to install from a network drive, simply copy the entire contents of the CD into a shared network directory.
To install the Client software
-
For 32-bit client computers, run the same setup program used to install the SQL Server server components. The setup program is included on the SQL Server CD in the directory (\ALPHA, \I386, or \MIPS) containing the software compatible with your hardware platform's processor architecture.
-
For Windows- and Windows for Workgroups -based clients, run the setup program located in the \CLIENTS\WIN16 directory.
-
For MS-DOS -based clients, copy the files from the \CLIENTS\MSDOS directory into the \SQL60\BIN directory on the client.
