The type conventions used in the TAPI 2.1 Programmer's Reference are as follows:
Bold text | Bold letters indicate terms, such as function and structure names, that you must use exactly as shown. |
ALL CAPS | All capitals typically indicate terms, such as message and constant names, that must be used exactly as shown. |
Italic text | In introductory and explanatory text, italicized words indicate that a key term or concept is being introduced. In function and message descriptions, italics indicates a placeholder for which you are expected to provide a value or the name of a variable. |
Monospaced text |
Monospaced type indicates code samples and data-structure definitions. |
