Working With Libraries

Wizards live in library databases. A library database is a regular .MDB file that is installed as a library when Microsoft Access is launched. Usually libraries are named with a .MDA extension to prevent them from appearing in list of regular databases. Microsoft Access knows which libraries to load at startup by inspecting the [Libraries] section of the .INI file. As mentioned before, global Access Basic code in all library databases is compiled and stored in memory when Microsoft Access starts.
