Menu Builder
You can use the Menu Builder to create custom menu bars that you can attach to a form or report. The Menu Builder automates the process of creating macros for each menu command and also displays a more graphical representation of your menu bar.
You can build a menu bar from scratch or use one of the existing Microsoft Access menu bars as a template.
To create a custom menu bar
- In Design view of a form or report, display the property sheet.
- Display the properties for the entire form or report, and then click the Build button next to the MenuBar property. Or, from the File menu, choose Add-ins, and then choose Menu Builder from the submenu.
- If you chose Menu Builder from the Add-in menu, Microsoft Access displays the first Menu Builder dialog box. Choose the New button to display the second Menu Builder dialog box.
- In the second Menu Builder dialog box (the first one you see if you clicked the Build button in the property sheet), select a template for your menu bar, and then choose OK.
- Starting with a template, you can add, move, and delete commands to fit your needs. To build a menu bar from scratch, select <Empty Menu Bar>.
- In the third Menu Builder dialog box, create the menu bar.
- When you finish creating the menu bar, choose OK.
- In the Save As dialog box, enter a name for the menu bar, and then choose OK. If you opened the Menu Builder from the MenuBar property, Microsoft Access enters the name in the property box.
If you opened the Menu Builder from the Add-ins command, Microsoft Access saves the menu bar under the name you gave it. You can use that name in the MenuBar property or in Microsoft Access Basic code.
