Microsoft Replication Manager
If you have a copy of Microsoft Office 97, Developer Edition, you can use the visual interface of Replication Manager to convert databases (create the first replica, or Design Master, of a replica set), create additional replicas, view the relationships between replicas, and set properties for replicas. You can also use Replication Manager to schedule synchronizations so they occur at specified times and can be completed unattended. Replication Manager gives you the greatest control over the sequence and timetable for synchronization. You can use Replication Manager to:
-
Manage a large number of replicas.
-
Support laptop users who are not always connected to a network. Laptop users can specify a network file location, or dropbox folder, where synchronization information is deposited for later processing.
-
Create complete replicas of more than one database.
-
Set the schedules for synchronizing replicas. Replication Manager provides a graphical user interface for scheduling synchronizations between replicas, as well as allowing on-demand synchronization by using a single menu command.
-
Configure synchronizations to send data, receive data, or send and receive data.
-
Access additional tools for troubleshooting.
