To restore the Messages database from a backup copy

• Copy the backup version of the WINNTMSG.MDB file (WINNTBAK.MDB) to your database directory.

  In a multiuser environment, first make sure that all other users have closed the database. You can check to see who is connected to your computer by using the Server option in Control Panel.

After having backed up the entire database at least once to a WINNTBAK.MDB file, you now have the option of just backing up the Messages table while the Messages database is still open.
