SYMPTOMSNovice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers. The gray dotted box that surrounds the top row in a list box, indicating no selection, disappears when you scroll down from the top row and minimize the form.
CAUSEThis problem occurs because list box controls on forms are painted incorrectly when the following is true: you minimize and then restore a form whose current control is a list box in which there is no selection and you scroll the top row out of view.
RESOLUTIONAny event that causes the form to repaint, such as pressing the F9 key or selecting an item from the list box, causes the gray dotted box to reappear.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, and Microsoft Access 7.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
