SUMMARYThis article describes how to use Microsoft Access version 1.1 to convert databases between version 1.0 and 1.1 formats, and how to create new databases in either version 1.0 or 1.1 formats.
MORE INFORMATIONDatabase versions are not listed when you choose Open Database or Repair Database from the File menu. If you try to open a version 1.1 database in Microsoft Access version 1.0, you will receive the error message:
Database is corrupted or is not an Access DatabaseIf you try to repair a version 1.1 database in Microsoft Access version 1.0, you will receive the error message:
Out-of-date database formatIn Microsoft Access version 1.1, existing databases can be converted between version 1.0 and 1.1 formats. You can use either the Compact or Encrypt command to perform the conversion. New databases can be created in either format.
