The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Access version 7.0

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the Microsoft Access Internet Assistant (IA95) with a workstation installation of Microsoft Access version 7.0, you may receive the following error message:

Setup could not find Microsoft Access installed on your system.
Please install Microsoft Access before installing this application.

Note: This error also occurs when attempting to install the Microsoft
Access Internet Assistant (IA95) on a system that has Microsoft Access
97 installed. Microsoft Access Internet Assistant (IA95) was designed
only to enhance Microsoft Access 7.0. The features it provides are
now included in Microsoft Access 97.

CAUSE

IA95 requires a local installation of Microsoft Access.

RESOLUTION

There is no workaround for this requirement. Perform a Typical, Compact, or Custom installation of Microsoft Access 7.0 locally.
