  • Microsoft Access 97

SUMMARY

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

Migration from earlier versions of Microsoft Access to Microsoft Access 97 is straightforward. When you initially open your database in Microsoft Access 97, you have two choices: Convert or Open. The Convert option will perform a binary conversion, so you can take advantage of all the new features in Microsoft Access 97. Once converted, the database cannot be used in earlier versions of Microsoft Access. The Open option will leave your database unchanged, so you will be able to share it with users of earlier versions; however, you will not be able to make design changes to the database.
