ACC97: Make MDE Fails Silently When Target Disk Is FullLast reviewed: May 21, 1997Article ID: Q161254 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSNovice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers. If you try to create an MDE database file from an existing database, and the target disk where you save the MDE file does not contain enough free disk space, Microsoft Access fails to create the MDE file and no error occurs.
RESOLUTIONSelect a target location for the MDE file with enough free disk space to store the database you are converting. In most cases, the MDE file will be smaller than the source database. If there is enough space on the target drive to store the source database, then there will be enough space to store the MDE file.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access 97. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
