The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Access 97

SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

The Microsoft Access 97 Help Topic "Export a table or other object to an existing Microsoft Access database" reads as follows:

You can export tables, queries, and macros from Microsoft Access version
8.0/97 to 7.0/95 databases, but only tables to Microsoft Access version
   1.x and 2.0 databases.

This information is not entirely correct. You can only export tables to 7.0/95 databases. You cannot export queries or macros. If you try to export a query or a macro, you will receive the following error message:

You can't export database objects (except tables) from the current
version of Microsoft Access to earlier versions of Microsoft Access.
