Last reviewed: April 17, 1997
Article ID: Q167064
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Access 97

SYMPTOMS

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

When you print or preview a Microsoft Access form or report that contains a Tab control, the tabs are not visible.

CAUSE

The tabs of a Tab control will not be visible when you print or preview a form or report if you are using the built-in Tab control that is included in Microsoft Access 97.

RESOLUTION

If you need tabs to be visible during printing or previewing, install the TabStrip ActiveX control that ships with Microsoft Office 97 Developer Edition. The tabs on the TabStrip ActiveX control are visible when you print or preview forms and reports.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

The built-in Tab control that comes with Microsoft Access can be assessed by clicking the Tab Control button on the toolbox. The Tab control that is installed from the Microsoft Office 97 Developer Edition Tools can be assessed by clicking ActiveX Control on the Insert menu or clicking the More Controls button on the toolbox and selecting the Tab control from the list.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.

  2. Open the Employees form in Form view. Note that the Tab control has two tabs, Company Info and Personal Info.

  3. On the File menu, click Print Preview to preview the form. Note that the tabs are not visible.
