SYMPTOMSModerate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills. When you use the Report Wizard in Microsoft Access 7.0 or 97 to create a report that is based on a linked spreadsheet that is more than 10 megabytes (MB) in size, the wizard takes a long time to create the report. In some cases Microsoft Access may stop responding (hang), or you may receive a "GPF in MSACCESS.EXE" error message.
CAUSEDepending on the size of the linked spreadsheet, it may take up to an hour or more to create the report with the Report Wizard.
RESOLUTIONTo create a report in Microsoft Access that uses a large amount of data from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, do one of the following:
Import the spreadsheet into a Microsoft Access database. -or- Create the report without using the Report Wizard. MORE INFORMATION
