SUMMARYModerate: Requires basic macro, coding and interoperability skills. When you move to the next record or close a Microsoft Access form, Microsoft Access automatically saves any changes that you have made to the current record. This article demonstrates how to use a BeforeUpdate event procedure that prompts you to verify the save operation before continuing. This article assumes that you are familiar with Visual Basic for Applications and with creating Microsoft Access applications using the programming tools provided with Microsoft Access. For more information about Visual Basic for Applications, please refer to your version of the "Building Applications with Microsoft Access" manual.
MORE INFORMATIONCAUTION: Following the steps in this example will modify the sample database Northwind.mdb. You may want to back up the Northwind.mdb file and perform these steps on a copy of the database. This example uses the BeforeUpdate event procedure in the Customers form to prompt the user to confirm changes before saving.
